Relentless Faith: turning your pain into purpose.
One of the biggest struggles we have as women in faith, is having the strength to power through difficult situations. We need to use our faith and not lose sight of our purpose because of pain.
I like many of you are strong and do not waiver in the moment. I shield myself from showing any ounce of doubt. I deal with the pain in the aftermath behind closed doors. I do not show the world my vulnerability. I do not show my weakness. I hold myself together to protect myself and my family. The downside to showing strength in times of sorrow and pain is being viewed as hard and cold. As women we tend to allow others to judge us for what we show the world. We also allow ourselves to judge others as well as ourselves. It's okay to show emotion. It's okay to be vulnerable and show the pain we feel. We just have to remember that our strength comes from our faith. Even in our times of weakness we need to remember that God LOVES us. He will give us the strength we need.
A question during difficult times is always: Why would God allow something bad like this to happen?
There are too many times in my life where I have questioned God, where I have not understood why he would allow bad things to happen. The truth is that God did not cause the bad things to happen to us. We can not understand the full effects of why bad things happen. But what we can do is learn to trust God and find out how to bring purpose through the pain. How can I grow in grace and knowledge? How can my suffering teach me about God?
As humans we have a natural response of anger and placing blame. As a Christian and a person of faith we need to use our pain to understand the suffering that Jesus endured for us. We need to use the grace given to us to respond like Jesus would. His response was one of obedience and trust in God.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
It's not God's fault something bad has happened to us. Bad things will always happen in a world filled with sin. God has given us this opportunity to learn and grow in faith. He has allowed us this opportunity to help others grow in their faith and understand that God loves us.
The love of the loved ones lost is always carried with us.
Trust in the lord our God. I pray for each of you reading this to be steadfast in you faith.
